Skills Development

Despite the labour market in Africa being dominated by the informal sector, especially in manufacturing, commerce, finance and mining, providing between 50-75% of employment[1] and 72% of non-agricultural employment[2], the sector is characterised by a lack life and vocational skills.

A mismatch of skills impacts negatively on the employability and competence of individuals, thus reduces the potential to contribute towards employment creation.

We focus on  developing and nurturing skills in  agriculture production and energy systems.

To develop the skills we partner with VTECs that have the right curriculum for example- training in Solar energy,  biogas technology,  Stoves Technology, generators and Solar water heating.

We also match our apprenticeship and skills development with target SME’s  to provide technical growth, competence, and a services culture to promote the scale-up of the enterprises.

Here is a sample of some of the Skills we have been developing in the field
